The Vitamin Shoppe in Franklin, TN
January 9, 2007
The Vitamin Shoppe, located in Franklin, TN was a great addition to an already great area for masonry structures. Led by the architectural and commercial arm of Southland Brick and Block, the area’s masonry contractors, general contractors and architects are turning out great buildings, seemingly, every day.
The architectural team at Gerald Herschman Architects, of Cleveland, OH, worked with general contractor, Innovative Constructive Solutions, Inc., of Brookfield, WI, to complete this building project.
The masonry contractor, R.E. Waller Masonry, from Joelton, TN, was responsible for the fine masonry work you see detailed here.
The Quik-Brik, from Oldcastle, which amounted to over 3100 SF, was a single-scored Cedarwood.
You can click on any of the photos shown for a full-screen view.
The stone you see pictured here is Trenwyth’s Madison MESASTONE.
There were over 1700 individual pieces of MESASTONE used on this project.
The Cummins Station location of Southland Brick and Block wants to thank all those involved with selecting and installing the masonry materials on this project.

Masonry Plays A Big Part In Design At Nashville Superspeedway
December 17, 2006

Over in Lebanon, TN, the Nashville Superspeedway is attracting visitors from several states to come and see some great racing.
We at Southland Brick and Block hope you’ll notice all the fine masonry materials while you’re there.
HNTB, the project architects and JTK Masonry, both from Nashville, were able to take two different colors and two different textures in each color of concrete masonry unit and blend it into a scheme that makes the masonry materials one of the focal points of this project.
The project included over 32,000 SF of Dover Gray masonry units and over 36,000 SF of Safari Beige units in splitface and smooth textures.

Here’s a closeup of all four masonry units.
The Administration Building, shown below, also used this same color and texture scheme and we applaud HNTB for designing this building with load-bearing masonry walls.

Wilson County, TN is home to this fine racing facility and Southland Brick and Block is proud to have supplied these masonry materials out of our Mufreesboro, TN location.
