Stone Age Outdoor Fireplace Display
March 23, 2007
This gorgeous creation is a 36″ Stone Age outdoor fireplace. You and I both need one.
We covered this one with Antique Gray Stackstone from Mountain Stone.
You can use stone, like we did, or brick to veneer your outdoor fireplace.
You can build in a nice place to store wood underneath your unit, like we did.
You can add a Pizza Oven, which was beyond our needs for this tradeshow display, but is an option open to you.
You can also walk right in to one of our Tennessee locations and order a complete outdoor fireplace system today.

Acme Brick’s Black Walnut Used On Vanderbilt’s Center For Jewish Life
March 15, 2007
The Vanderbilt University ( Ben Schulman ) Center for Jewish Life was recently constructed using Acme Brick’s Black Walnut face brick for the exterior veneer.
Designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects of Nashville (TN), the center is also home to Grins, a Kosher vegetarian Cafe.
As you can see in the photo above, the Black Walnut by Acme Brick has a nice range of colors and has a lot of visible texture.
The design team at Manuel Zeitlin made great use of the colors and texturing by using insets in some facades and by not overwhelming the eyes by keeping the trim colors simple, yet effective.
All of this would not have been possible without some great detail work by the masonry contractor, Jackson Masonry, also of Nashville.
This closeup of the Black Walnut face brick can be made full-screen size by clicking on it, as can the other photos.
The Cummins Station location of Southland Brick and Block supplied the brick, along with all the other masonry materials on this project and can help you with all of you masonry supply needs.
